Durham BSI Create Seed 2024
Thank you for taking part in Seed
Seed is part of the Art-Science Collaboration project BSI Create, led by the Biophysical Sciences Institute (BSI) at Durham University.
The aim of BSI Create is to bring together scientists with creative professionals and academics to form new and surprising connections. To generate new knowledge and to explore and shape our collective understanding and communities in fresh new ways.
Seed brings people together to talk and explore ideas connected to our research, with no brief other than to explore ideas and see what happens. BSI Create is about developing collaborations – not commissioning or consultancy.
We have funds for up to 10 Seed conversations. We will provide funds (of up to £550) to cover the creative professional partner’s time and travel to allow a minimum of 3, one hour-long meetings.
Find out more about BSI Create, or contact us by email at bsi.manager@durham.ac.uk.
What is the BSI?
The Biophysical Sciences Institute supports research at the boundary of the life sciences and other physical sciences, including physics, chemistry, mathematical sciences, engineering and computer science. Our research focus is on fundamental biosciences processes and systems, much of which has real-world applications e.g. in drug discovery or the development of novel materials. Our community is drawn from across disciplines and career stages and we are united by a commitment to collaborative research and fostering a supportive research culture. Find out more about our research here.
How will we match people together?
We are inviting participants to self-match, submitting their professional interests using the form below. Following this a link will be sent to all applicants inviting them to sort the collective research interests into groups.
More information including the scheme timeline can be found on the website here.
